Note that the upfront fee outfit hasn't even bothered to pony up $15 for a TUG membership. Sheesh!

I"M O.K. With Paying For Closing If I Get To Pick The Agency.

It's not free if buyer has to pay inflated closing costs. So what are they?
Wait -- does the person accepting the giveaway get to pick the closing services agency ?

Or does the company offering the free timeshares require the recipient of the freebies to use some high-price captive closing agency ?

If I get to choose, I'll go with LT Transfers or 1 of the TUG advertisers.

If I have to go with a high-price closing agency that that the timeshare donor company forces me to use, then never mind -- because that's a deal killer.

1) so is the problem that these arent really free, since the buyer pays closing costs, that are probably inflated to provide another stream if income for Trade Up Travel?

2) or is the problem that someone probably paid Trade up Travel to move this stuff?

In the first case consider those costs your purchase price, if its too much just pass, and in the second case consider that nearly everything you see on ebay has moved through the so called timeshare liquidation companies that have been paid to get rid of it

Bottom line if you like what you see, and think the price is fair, buy it . if not: pass

Like it or not, with few exceptions this is how the secondary market for timeshares works.

The problem is not posting the terms of the deal.

I never talk to sales people that hide essential terms for later discussion.

Since this is a "free" thread, I suggest this be a requirement to post.

Fair enough

Then don't buy

But this is not a free timeshare forum. It's a bargain deals forum

It is a free timeshare forum, but posters may ask the new owner to pay the transfer cost:

-All timeshares offered in this forum should be offered for free.

-You may ask the new owner to pay for the transfer fees.

-If you want to "sell" your timeshare, please use the TUG Marketplace, instead.

-Please do not post "want Ads" in the Bargain Deals Forum. This forum is for those wanting to give things away. Want Ads can be posted in the TUG Marketplace.

***I have asked the OP to post the all the details about the transfer cost.

...and if the OP declines to do so, or if the closing figures get posted but are plainly exorbitant and unreasonable, I hope all of the OP ads get "the boot", since the OP (as pointed out already) is otherwise just obtaining free advertising for "PCC giveaways" with (...maybe, we'll see) overpriced closing costs.

I've got my eye on that biennial Westgate offering with $1K annual mf --- really hope I can snag it! Maybe even be able to enjoy a Westgate stay in 2016 too!

Hey, I Finally Made TUG-BBS History.

It is a free timeshare forum, but posters may ask the new owner to pay the transfer cost:
I believe my Bargain Giveaway offering was the final 1 allowed offering a timeshare el cheapo rather than el freebo.

Yes, that's a feeble piece of history -- but historical all the same.

Who would ever have thought ?

Full Disclosure: The timeshare offered in that entry now belongs to new owners, so the entry itself is old business. Is this a great country or what ?

Brian,

Thank you for clarifying we have paid for membership fees as well as about $300 so far in marketplace fees. I will go back and clarify what our expectations are as far as closing is as well on the original question.

Thank you for your questions, sorry we did a poor job of explaining everything in the OP.
We will happily allow any interested party to select the closing company of their choice to complete the transaction.
