Heading to Denver tomorrow to visit my son. Heard the Aspens are in bloom. It’s just a quick 3 day trip so really only time for one great hike. Any recommendations? Never been and he just moved a couple months ago. Staying downtown and will take any tips! Thank you!
We live in Denver. I think the fall colors are actually late this year. A friend from work just drove up I-70 and guestimated that peak colors are about a week away (still some nice yellows mixed with green, but didn't seem to be much orange yet). That being said, there are a few nice places. Maybe you'll want to give Golden Gate State Park a try?

It's not anything like the trees back east. I wouldn't really call it blooming. I think of flowers. It's shiny green leaves that turn golden and then drop to the ground very quickly after they turn. Just so you know. You might be disappointed. We do have a lovely drive we do in the mountains to see the colors, it's about a 12 hour drive to/from Denver, so six hours one way through Telluride and western Colorado. We live north of Denver.
