Exchanging for Week 52 in Aruba on II

My apologies if this question has already been asked, I tried to search before posting this. Was wondering how hard it is to find the week of New Years 2019 at the Marriott Surf Club on Interval International?

Impossible at this resort.

You have to own a fixed week 52 at the Surf Club to book it. Resale, it would cost probably around $30,000 or more.

Or, just rent from owners.

As an Aruba owner at both Ocean and Surf Club, completely agree with this statement. Week 51 and 52 in aruba command one of the highest rental rates I think in all of the Marriott VC properties. A 2BR easily rents for $6,000 - $7,000 for the week and all the owners know it. So if an owner is not using they can easily rent it and have a profit equal to 2x the maintenance fee.

Thank you so much for the info! My friends rented weeks 51 and 52 for this year and asked us to join them for NYE. Since we have weeks deposited into II, I wanted to try and use that first before renting, but sounds like it's not worth it to even look. At least now I know! Thanks again!
