So I have been looking in Interval International for possible cruise exchanges. I'm aware that it is generally not a great deal to do so.

But I'm not clear on how they handle a single supplement if you are cruising solo. It looks like an exchange for a timeshare week would not require a single supplement charge and might be a decent deal in some situations. But I was hoping someone might have some experience with this to know for certain that there are no back end fees or surprises when attempting this sort of exchange.

Thanks.

You always have to pay for double occupancy for cruises no matter how you book it. II cruise exchange is really just a cruise booking portal and not a true exchange. This is why you cannot do a cruise exchange if you have already deposited your week. In a nutshell if you attempt a cruise exchange and during the process you change the default two adults to one, the price screen is going to be double.

One big problem with the cruise exchange is that the price can be even higher than booking elsewhere and not giving up your week for the exact same cruise. Not always but enough to make it silly.

One of the reasons why my friends and I won’t cruise. I’m not sharing a tiny room. I love my friends but too close for comfort lol. I saw a while back one cruise line was creating single rooms, basically closets with a bed and toilet lol. I guess that’s all you really need. Personally, I’m not a fan of cruises.

And here I thought the standard size double occupancy rooms were already a closet with a smaller than travel trailer size toilet and shower. I cannot imagine them any smaller.
