IMO leaving TS Weeks to your kids without them having a total understanding the implications of TS ownership is foolish.

Brings up a good point. That everybody should take the time to pass along some TS wisdom to your kids.

Interesting thought I'm sure will freak some people out. Wonder if telling the TS that the owner(s) died, and the heirs have refused it, might get them to accept it back, for those that just want out? Of course, its unethical, maybe even violating a law or two. But would cause less damage than the viking ships do.

They would probably be pesky and ask for a copy of the death certificate.

A uniquely bad idea...

Can you say fraud?

Whether by Viking Ship sailing or by willful living owner (the latter being much easier to track down and serve with legal process), only the flavor and clarity of the fraud differs.
The deceitful owner scenario would actually be a much easier fraud case to make, since the underlying intent is crystal clear and the action quite overt and deliberate.

Shorter summary --- bad idea.

In any case, comicbookman is correct that any halfrway intelligent HOA would request documentary proof of owner passing (i.e, certified death certificate).
