Tuesday, Sept 12, 2017 - 1pm Update

All Cunningham resorts in Sarasota area and St Augustine are temporarily closed. Everyone on staff is safe with no injuries to speak of. Most resorts have no power and it could be 5-10 days before power is restored.

Initial evaluation indicates no structural damage. Some property has water intrusion. Common areas are full of debris. Resorts are not accepting incoming guests this week. We estimate several resorts will not be able to accept any guests the week of Sept 16-23. Please check personal email, resort website, and Facebook for more updates.

Please do not call resorts or any staff cell numbers as this will only delay the work we have to do. We all have limited power and cannot use it unless it is an emergency.

Thanks for posting this. I own at Longboat Bay Club. Our first floor is the parking so I was hoping water intrusion would be minimal.

We own at Cunningham's The Beach Club at St Augustine Beach & Tennis Resort (St Augustine Beach). We got an email this afternoon from management there saying there was no major structural damage and some units had water and sand penetration through the sliding patio doors. They expected to have everything cleaned up and dried out this week and expected to open power was restored.

I saw on a St Augustine Facebook page that parts of St Augustine had power back on so maybe the people with a check-in for next Sunday (17th) will be good to go. The resort asked people not to call or email while all the staff concentrated on cleaning the place up. They said they'd send out another update in a day or so.

Update
The Beach Club at St Augustine
Update - Monday, September 18, 2017

We are thrilled to report that after a week-long power outage, electricity was finally restored to The Beach Club Sunday, September 17th. The resort has been cleaned of sand and debris and is ready to accept check-ins. The pools will be closed for at least another day to give the pumps and filters time to property recirculate and filter the water. The Atlantic Beach and Tennis Club reports that their pools will be re-opened tomorrow and the tennis courts next week. The dunes once again held up really well for us and the beaches in our area are in really good shape. Only a very few businesses in St. Augustine are still closed due to flooding and nearly all attractions, with the exception of Fort Matanzas and Marineland, are open for business.
Thank you all for your thoughts and well wishes, as well as your patience and understanding during this time.
Thank you,
Rhonda
