Noticed that there are 3 Crane resort listings on RCI:

#3023 Crane Beach Resort
#6390 Crane Residential Resort
#C556 Park Residences at Crane

Can someone help me understand the differences? Are there any codes that I should avoid in a search?

Also they are all listed as RCI Points. Does that mean that they will not show up in an OGS?

From my understanding if it is rci points it will not match in an ogs.

The Crane Beach Resort is the original hotel which opened in 1887. it is reportedly the oldest continuously operating resort in the Caribbean. This is the pool and building on the point at the farthest right of the photo.

The Crane Residential are the buildings scatter around the resort that are closer to the cliffs and views. These are Buildings 1, 2, 3 etc. They have been built over the last 15 years. These are located on the grounds above and below the shopping area (tightly packed buildings that is to the left of the original resort). These have units that have ground floor large pools and all levels with corner room plunge pools

The Park Residences at the Crane are the newest build and are on the circle drive in front of the original entrance to the Crane. These are only about 1/3 built, and it is likely these that the HGVC new partnership will be developed. These have garden and resorts views, ground level units have a private pool option, and the penthouse level has a roof top private pool.

@Sandy VDH Thanks for the layout. Are there any units to avoid in the search? I seem to recall that someone mentioned in the HGVC thread that some of the units had ineffective air conditioners. Would those be in the older units and should those be avoided?

Crane Residential Buildings 1 and 2 for sure had AC unit sizing issues and problems, those are the two just below the shopping area and above the pool on the south side of the resort. The units to the west of the big pool the AC unit was upgraded, as were the units that are north of the shopping area.

Now if you are there and is is breeze and its not overly hot, the breeze though the units are good.

I have never stayed in the original resort so I can't comment on those units. However the walls there are very thick and that might keep the rooms cooler. I have stayed in Building 5 right off the south cliff and it was awesome. (I did submit a review). Had previously stayed in Building 2 and the AC was awful.
