We just returned from an amazing trip to Grand Luxxe Riviera Maya. Quick question on Chase points. We usually get 3x points on hotel/travel/food. I was just looking over my statement and it was billed from Mayan Entertainment. And the Category was Entertainment/Fun. Is this something I should call Chase about and have them change.

    Thanks

This often happens especially in Mexico with our Chase Sapphire card. The points earned are dependent on what category the merchant process the charge as. Chase has nothing to do with it. I have called Chase after I saw the billing post on my online statement and complained. Sometimes the CS agent say "too bad it's what the merchant classified the charge as" sometimes they make a pro CS decision and award the points difference while on the call and say it's an exception that and don't count on it in the future. I've been more successful calling than sending an online secured email as those always get answered with a negative result.
