changing which SO are used for a reservation?

I banked 67100 SO for this year and then I made SO reservation in 2019. I used the banked options but I would rather use my 2019 SO.

There is currently no availability for the time period that I booked
My question. Is it possible to call in and have a rep, change which Staroptions are being used, without risking the loss of my booking?

I am interested in the answer too. I know with Marriott that they can switch around the points used for a reservation, not sure about Vistana.

I assume you've discovered another use in 2018 for your 67,100 banked SO?

The banked SOs would be good through 12/31/2020. This is why it is often better to use current use year points instead of banked. Will possibly save the banking fee in 2019 by switching out the points.

That is exactly it. I would have until 2020 to use the banked options instead of having to possibly bank again in 2019

Years ago, I did what you are going to try to do. The CSR was successful in changing the SOs to the ones I wanted to use without the loss of the reservation. She had a way of doing it without canceling and rebooking my reservation. The procedure may have changed, but it worked then. Good luck and hope everything works out for you. CJ

We did this last year.

In 2016 we booked two 2017 reservations... one used a mix of banked SO (expiring 2017) and 2017 SO... the other used only 2017 SO.

We later canceled one reservation (not knowing which reservation used which SO).

After later banking 2017 SO, I realized the numbers were not as expected. Turns out the canceled reservation was the one using some banked SO expiring 2017.

I asked them to adjust because the system didn't allow me to choose which SO to use when making the reservations. They restacked so that the reservation NOT canceled used the banked SO expiring 2017... they then banked the remaining 2017 SO.

Confusing? I know I confused myself trying to explain.
