Got lucky and was able to turn my 9 day WSJ Oct 12th reservation into a 9 Day Oct 12th Cabo Reservation.

I am a regular WSJ visitor but have never been to the Mexican Pacific ... looking for activity recommendations ... GO!

I've not experienced this place yet but have read good reviews of Flora Farms outside of San Jose del Cabo.

There is an Art Walk in downtown San Jose del Cabo that also gets really good reviews as there are several art galleries who participate.

There are beautiful golf courses and deep sea fishing if that interests you.

Which resort? If it's the one that used to be Westin Regina, you will love it. Very stunning property. Every room has a nice ocean view. You will need a car to get around or rely on taxi and public transportation. Cabo in Oct will still be hot.

Hopefully the area will be cleaned up from the last storm. It looked pretty bad in Cabo's Medano Beach area. My resort had alot of debris in front of it that included a dead cow or horse.

Medano Beach in front of Pueblo Bonito Rose & Blanco was totally cleaned up in a week or less after the storm according to photos posted on the PB Owners Facebook page.

It was a horse. I was looking right at it once we were able to cross the river bed.

Memorable vacation!

Are you staying in Cabo San Lucas or Los Cabos? Cabo San Lucas is closer to the "End of the Earth" rock formation. Take a boat excursion to get a closer look. Also, spend some time at the marina. There's some interesting small shops and restaurants. You can also find Sammy Haggar's place Cabo Wabo in Cabo San Lucas.

There's a small canyon about half way between the 2 areas. There's a zipine in that canyon that's quite fun. In Los Cabos, as Karen G mentioned, an outdoor art show that many of the galleries participate in. There's also a dolphin experience near Los Cabos that my wife & both really enjoyed. Again, in Los Cabos you'll find many local restaurants at the same town square where the art show is located.

My wife & I both really enjoyed our stay in both areas. Have a great stay.

Which town - Cabo San Lucas, San Jose del Cabo, or in the Corridor between the 2 towns? Skip Todos Santos and Hotel California. Total waste of time. The Hotel has no legitimate connection to the Song and the Eagles. You can swim with the Whale Sharks in La Paz. There is also Isla Espirito Santo near La Paz to explore. Cabo Adventures for Zip lining, etc. Swim with the Dolphins in the Harbour at San Jose del Cabo. The Art Walk on Thursday Nights many times does not start until November but who knows maybe it is year round now. There are 2 ways to go snorkeling. Go on a Boat Snorkling Tour - food and drink provided. If you rent a car and have your own snorkeling gear you can drive to Playa Santa Maria or Playa Chileno. The exact same beaches the boat tour will take you. We usually arrive about 8am. No crowds, no wind, and no waves. Just you, the beach cleaners, and the fish. Remember to take toilet paper for the bathrooms.

Sammy Hagars Birthday Bash at the Cabo Wabo starts on Oct 9 and runs through Oct 14. October is great marlin fishing in the Cabo area. The Bisbee marlin tournament is around the 3rd week of Oct and many tourney fishers will start showing up mid Oct. Tuna will be good. Scuba in Cabo Pulmo is great in October. Atv rentals near Cerritoes is fun. Surfing at Ceritos is fun and hanging out at Ceritos Beach Club is a good way of watching.

If eating is an activity others will need to chime in. I haven't had a meal in a Cabo restaurant that I would call anything other than marginal but dining on the beach or in the marina are good places to people watch which is an activity we enjoy.

Plenty of golf in the area. Zip linning. Hiking. Shore fishing. Timeshare presentations.

I always have fun in Cabo.

I remember reading your other post about this. Freaking incredible !!! So far, I haven't had the big storm flood experience on any trips yet.

Looks like between the two towns:

Fishing is world class out of Cabo San Lucas, though it ain't cheap. October is prime for Dorado (mahi mahi), wahoo, roosterfish, and sailfish, along with the aforementioned tuna and both marlin species.

For dinner I like Maro's downtown Cabo .Not fancy but the 1/2 and 1/2 kilo lobster/ shrimp dinner is good and cheap. You can tell if a restaurant is good if it is packed full of local.I own a timeshare out on the corridor and realized I like staying at Medano Beach better. You don't feel like you are trapped at the resort and can walk to downtown Cabo.During the marlin tournement it's fun to walk the harbor at night and check out the megabuck sport fishing boats.

Thanks for sharing your Cabo information. I thought it was very useful.

The only thing I’d change is the section about tipping. Go ahead and tip the folks who are bagging groceries—usually just kids. They don’t get paid anything except the tips they get & a few coins are appreciated.
