I have an exchange I have to cancel. Check in is in a couple days, the deposit expires in a couple weeks. It's a total loss for me. I was going to just cancel it online but I don't see a way to do that. Is there a way to do it? I have very limited time to make calls during the day and since it's a total loss whether I call to cancel or just not show up, I have zero motivation to call to cancel it.

It may be because you are so close to check in perhaps?

(I just reread what I posted and I don't think it applies so I deleted)

Maybe call II and see if there is any way that they can help you out. Sorry about the outcome on this.

Unfortunately there is no ability to cancel any exchange or OGS online. You always have to call.

You might not be motivated but you could offer it for free on the distressed forum.

I spent 5 minutes talking to a robot and then being on hold with Interval and then I hung up. I emailed the resort to tell them I wasn't coming and they emailed back saying they got the message and would notify the front desk.

I would love to be able to cancel online. Sometimes though I wonder if their process of having members call to cancel is a sneaky way to have people stuck with exchanges they've changed their minds about.

I doubt it because cancelling actually helps II alot more than it does the member. When a cancel is done the reservation goes back into the pool to exchange into or buy the getaway. That is money that II would not have had without the cancellation. On top of this if the member cancels outside of 14 days then they get a replacement deposit which would then be another exchange fee.
