We booked a reservation for December 2018. I understand from prior threads that cancellation is best purchased when it is an end of the year reservation

Embedded in this reservation are 2017 saved points. If we purchase cancellation protection, what happens to those 2017 saved points if we are unable to rebook prior to Dec 31? Can we roll those over to RCI?

Yes, you can deposit Saved points into RCI.

RCI Deposit. On or before December 31 of the current year, Members may deposit current- year ClubPoints or previously Saved ClubPoints into the RCI Exchange Program for future weekly and nightly RCI exchange reservations

RCI deposits are valid from the date of deposit through an additional two calendar years. Once ClubPoints are deposited into the RCI Exchange Program, the transaction is final and ClubPoints may not be returned to a Member’s Club account. An RCI Exchange fee will be charged at the time of confirmation or the initiation of an RCI search request

Thank you @SmithOp. I will be attempting to rebook and apply these saved 2017 points to an existing June reservation to release 2018 points but if it is too unwieldy playing reservation dominos, this is a good back-up. My net is that I would have to apply all my 2018 and saved 2017 to RCI or I will pay two save fees - one for Hilton and one for RCI if I want the 2018 points to go to Hilton.
