Thank you all so much for your posts! Because of this site I was able to start the cancellation process right away! I have just come back from the post office and sent my cancellation letter certified. I can’t thank you enough for the information. I feel bad for people that don’t fine the info on time to get out. I was wondering, when is it considered that you canceled? The day the letter is received by them or the day that I sent it out, with the date stamp? Thank you!

The day that it was stamped. That is why you should ask for a receipt, to show when it was sent.

Yup! Because I sent it certified they gave me a receipt stamped with the date! Thank you!

From what you have described, it sounds like this will have a positive outcome. Just remember that they are not required to give you any update about the progress of your rescission. It might be tempting to phone but that might lead to them trying to change your mind about the rescission. Legally they have up to 45 days to refund you but it normally does not take that long. Just keep an eye on your credit card activity and watch for any refunds.
