Through the WKV Owners Association Resale Program, I have been offered a Platinum 1BR, 81,000 SO for $9000.

Is there any advantage buying this rather than a similar property for less money through TUG or another vetted listing online?

I've seen them for a little less but not often. $9000 isn't a steal but it not bad from the developer. You can convert to Starpoints but that's not a really not a good value. These options would apply to elite status but the best way to get elite is buy several resales first and buy from the developer for the final contract.

I wasn’t interested- so I didn’t pay much attention- but I do not think that the HOA sale of WKV comes with ability of SO-SP conversion or towards Elite status.

Is $9K for a Plat+ 1Bd a good value?
I think so - especially with removing the risk(s) that can come with buying resales. You will always find someone who paid less.
They are relatively hard to find - or used to be.

All things considered - our 1Bd WKV (81K SO) has been an excellent value.

Funny... our WKV Concierge Sheila claimed that VSE picked them all up for the Flex program. I figured it was BS, but let it go. I didn’t do any Owner Update (offer was 3K SPs for 30min special update). So didn’t query Sales about this.

Just got back - excellent resort.

WKV is an awesome resort.

The OP didn't state their goal for buying the week. I agree, $9000 isn't bad for the week if you plan to go there every year and use it. The Plat+ 2 Bd LO Annual is a much better deal at $15,000 since you know the seller, if it's even still available. OTOH, $9000 for the week is pricey if it is just the 81K Staroptions you are going after. WKV gold weeks go for a lot less on the resale market or consider a week at SVV.

It's my understanding WKV is currently not yet part of the Westin Flex, so how could they be picking up those weeks for the trust?
