I got these emails about the meetings for my timeshare. I am not planning to attend, however, I'm not sure what the check for the proxies.

    Nanea Ocean Resort Community Assn
    1. Board of Directors as a whole
    2. The Directors present at the meeting
    3. A particular member who has to be there at the meeting. I don't know anyone.

then this other meeting (which apparently is concurrent)

    Nanea Ocean Villas Owners Assn
    1. Terry Castleberry (sect'y of VOA)
    2. A particular member who has to be there at the meeting.

Then under each, there is something you can check called "Quorum ONLY"

Anyone got any ideas about this? I'm sure every owner at Nanea got this. The meetings are held at 9:00 AM on Dec. 13th.

Sadly - it doesn't matter. The management company filters the applications, and only allows people who see things their way to run. Then, when they don't get enough votes for a quorum, the current board of directors will choose the exact candidates that the management company wants - people who will rubber stamp the management companies wishes.

I sort of thought so. Is this the way it goes for all the timeshares? Kind of sad, if you ask me,

So just ignore the emails then?

That's the way it goes for most of the big corporate management companies. With smaller stand alone TS's, they are more likely to have independent boards staffed by regular owners.
