Beginning May 25, 2019 through September 2, 2019 (Memorial Day - Labor Day), Metrorail service will be closed for major renovations at the following six Virginia Stations - Braddock Road, King Street-Old Town, Eisenhower Ave, Huntington, Van Dorn Street, and Franconia-Springfield.

Local shuttles will replace Metrorail in the affected area. Shuttle buses will run every five minutes during rush hours and every 10 minutes midday, except the Blue Line Shuttle, which will run every 10-12 minutes during midday.

The Blue Line Shuttle will not stop at Braddock Road Metro. The Yellow Line Shuttle will not stop at Reagan National Airport.

More information on this platform improvement project and alternative transit options can be found at the Arlington Transportation Partners website.

The info I saw said to expect an extra 30 minutes to your commute each way and more during peak/rush hour.

It makes staying at the timeshares in Old Town Alexandria a dubious proposition. Parking is really expensive so the only real option to get to DC is an Uber to a station on the Orange Line (Rosslyn) or straight into DC.

I think that's why rci actually had some summer national harbor deposits this year and rentals will go for less.

That might be the case, but I don't know whether that's the real reason. National Harbor isn't really near any metro stop. My guess is that it just isn't in a good location and people who have stayed there may not pick it on a return to the area.

National Harbor never comes up in RCI in the summer other than this year. RCI usually only has it available October through February and even then doesn't discount it even for stays within 30 days. A typical February week, two weeks in advance goes for 20-30 tpu's or full rci points.

Hasn’t popped up much this year. It’s location stinks if easy public transportation to DC is what you want. That said, there is very little timeshare supply in the DC area, so it staying booked is not a problem.

agreed but better access than Williamsburg for someone looking to stay in a timeshare.

Why not Uber/Lyft to National Airport or Crystal City or Pentagon City? No need to go to Rosslyn and tons of reasons NOT to go straight into the District.

Uber at National Airport is different. National Airport requires First In, First Out but it can be done.
