I sat through both the introduction and the Elite presentations. Not any new information for me, but I do applaud HGVC for providing training experience with absolutely NO Sales. Nice change for an industry that has notorious reputation for pushy sales. HGVC wins high points for me on that score.
They provided a swag bag, a few prizes and a meal. For no charge to use, but expenses to HGVC, it was a nice customer facing gesture.
I did speak to a few of the HGVC IT folks there. They are making additional investments on making the website more navigable. I did ask for few things that I would like to see. I did ask for a few of the more subtle business rules to be implemented a bit differently, but I doubt most of those wont make a list of enhancements as those are my quirky wants. I want a summary page that is not bookable, but where you can see the entire 4 or 5 month window for anything longer than 2 days availability in the Florida Gulf coast. If you had searched yourself, you know it is like a search and recover dive grid pattern. Select a date range, scroll to the bottom of the list for, then shift the time window by a month, and then search again up the list to the top, rinse and repeat, several times. Shifting to the right, scrolling up and down. It takes about 5 to 10 minutes just to find a single 3 day stay in an entire 5 month window. I just want a easier overview of that from a single page, and then if I see some availability I can then target into that resort and timeframe. For Elite owners, I want a 7 day reservation to be changable. Right now because 7 day reservations are NO charge for Elite level, if you want to change that to a 4 day reservation instead, you can't. You have to cancel it and then rebook a new paid for reservation. Problem is if the days you wanted where in your 7 day reservation and NO other days are available, you run the risk of losing your reservation all together. I had this happen to me recently. Just have the computer realize, I did not pay for it the first time, and upon changing it there is now a fee that must be collected.
Frankly there were not a lot of resale folks here, nor were any that I spoke to really aware of it. No surprise I suppose, but you think people would do a little more research before spending. But as the few that make it here to TUG for advice on rescinding we know there are hundreds that don't ever find TUG or resales.
Several talked about selling, as they purchased and have not used it yet. That was a rude awakening for them. I suggested Lemonaide not Lemons was the better approach.
If you are new HGVC owner, I think it would be worth your while.
