Any update on SW FL booking online?

Getting close to the end of the year. Remember earlier this year hgvc told us “ SW Fl properties (and Scotland) will be available for online booking by the end of the year. ”

Anyone hear any update on this?

“Earlier in the year we were told “SW Fl properties (and Scotland) will be available for online booking by the end of the year. ”. Will this be happening and when?”

When I get an answer I will post.

I wouldn’t think HGVC would have announced that the capability was coming soon unless they had already overcome those objections by the affiliates.

“There has been no date announced for when this feature will be added to the website. An email will be sent to member when announced. Please let us know if you have any other questions.”

Like usual, doubt the representative even pursued an answer.

Once again I will ask what happened to

It obviously did not happen. Is it still in the works? If so, what is the new projection date?
As an owner of multiple affiliated weeks, I do feel I deserve a straight answer. The previous answer was not adequate.

The answer I got
“Thank You for contacting us. Regards to when the Southwest Florida properties and Scotland will be available to book online. At this time we do not have an anticipated completion date for when this will be available on the website to book. However rest assured as soon as we know an anticipated completion date we will send out emails to all of our members as well as post it as an alert notification at the top of the website.”

Then I sent
“Thank you for answering but you gave me the same vague answer as before. You told your members it would be done by the end of 2018 and it did not happen. Members should be told why the delay, if it is still planned and projection when. Who can I contact to ask if it is still happening and when?”

The answer I got
“There are Affiliated Resorts within our Resort Collection that we do not own directly. Some of the reservation systems for these properties that we are affiliated with are not compatible with our online reservation engines so you must contact the Contact Center at 1-800-932-4482 or 407-722-3141 to confirm rooms at these locations. At this time we do not have an anticipated date for when they will be available. We apologize for any inconvenience. If you have any further questions, feel free to reach out.”


Three times I asked, three times canned answers. I now agree with others that it probably won’t happen. I encourage everyone who owns hgvc to send an email asking about it and the disappointment that it has not happened. I will be at one of the affiliates in a few weeks and will inquirer.

I'll be calling them in few days to book (hopefully) something there.
I'll certainly tweak their noses about creating false hope.

Talked to a CSR at the call center today.
Booked a week at Eagles Nest starting August 16th.

I brought up the subject and got this canned reply:
"They're working on it. But we have no idea when."

They gave me a hard-sell on cancellation protection.
I said, "If it's red-tide or something, I'll just move it."

Did you have much to choose from or did you take what was available?

I asked for May-Sept in SW-Fla. Only August was available.
Sanibel-Captiva - Three 4-day options + one 3-day option.
Ft. Meyers (Seawatch) - I cut her off.
Marco - Several weeks available at all resorts, 'cept Regency.
There were 3 consecutive weeks into Sept at Charter Club.
DW preferred Eagles Nest: There were two 1-week options.

I know that August will be d*mn-hot as I'm from Miami.
That's why God invented A/C, hats and sunscreen.

Thank you for sharing. I only called twice to find out if anything was available in SW Florida and both times there was none. I hate calling so I decided to change my portfolio to get what I want and got my affiliates. I will try again as you had success and there were a few to select.

Last year's red tide may have chilled some demand.
The CSR read the spiel on cancellation protection.

I said, "If I need to, I'll just move it somewhere else."
The way CSR's dribble out specifics can be maddening.
... which is why we need online booking.

They just posted about SW Florida on facebook. I asked when we will be able to book online, I was told mid February.

Thanks, i just checked their FB page, and saw that too. Will be good news if it actually happens.

Obviously this project has been more complicated than they expected, or perhaps the resorts had to make some upgrades to their reservations systems.

On the downside, i imagine online booking with increase the popularity of the these resorts.
