Sounds like PIC is definitely not worth it since you’re really not getting anything other than another way to exchange your existing timeshare. Maybe if you had a large unit and got the max points where it would save you 2 or 3 exchange fees each year.

In regards to what you do/don’t get with resale, you have access to the top 4 types of locations, but not the bottom 3?

It increases your VIP level and if you need or want it, extra points. I bought my fixed week for $28 on eBay and I get 254,000 points for it. Considering those points would retail for $63,000k, it’s worth the $89 exchange fee. Your right that if you only have a one bedroom it isn’t worth much unless you already have 250,000 points at and are looking to get the minimum to go silver. If you are starting off fresh, buying (2) three bedroom fixed weeks on eBay and buying the cheapest package you can get from corporate, you can get silver for $8k-$12k depending on what you buy. Plus, if you really do it right and keep the maintenance fees less then $800 per year for that three bedroom, even with the program fee, the points will be cheaper in Mf then anything you can find on eBay.

I’ve not seen this answered anywhere. Say I have 168k points with a contract I’m buying that’s EOY Even. Do those have to be used for bookings this year, or can I use them to book something for next year? I guess what I’m asking is whether points have to be used for bookings in their use year?

Unless you're one of the VIP levels (and I can't recall details of each VIP level) it's too late to move points to a future use year. They will need to be used for a reservation this year or deposited to RCI.
