His house in San Francisco had round the clock security (two SUV's parked in front on the street) during the 2 year renovation and for a while after that. They are gone now and it looks just like any other nice, but not lavish (not in Pacific Heights or Sea Cliff), house in SF.
We were on Kauai when he first started building his wall of exclusion. He could have built a 3 foot wall that would have not causedmall the rekus. He also did not understand about the Hawaiian Home Lands. He is interesting that he appears to be paying off one or two Hawaiians to help him out with the multiple Quiet Title Actions.
He is not normal and really wants to exclude people and does not care what others think.

I realized several hours after I posted this that it could sound like a defense of Zuckerberg which was not my intention at all. It was just surprise at this recent activity after the low key and respectful way his purchase and renovation in SF was handled.
It is truly shocking to know what he is doing on Kauai. The article was hard to read it is so absolutely and unnecessarily self-absorbed and completely lacking in understanding about Hawaiians and their land, the beaches and their people. So completely tone deaf and selfish. For a lovely counterpoint of how this sort of situation can be handled I recommend watching The Descendants (Alexander Payne movie with George Clooney), also about land rights in Kauai.
