“Maui Ocean Center has introduced a new technology-driven exhibit that takes visitors into the underwater world of humpback whales.

The Humpbacks of Hawaii exhibit includes a show in the new 120-seat theater, The Sphere, which combines 3D glasses and 4K laser imagery for an immersive visual experience.

We saw this while we were there on our recent trip. It was the first time we had ever gone to the Maui Ocean Center in all of our years of going there. We had gone on a whale watch prior and had gotten some kind of coupon through Pacific Whale Foundation for $5.00 off.

We went recently and purchased the aloha package for 2 online, which included lunch at seascapes restaurant (limited menu).
While it’s maybe not the greatest aquarium we’ve been to, we thought it was an afternoon well spent. Lunch was good. The movie was nice (could have been a little longer) and the exhibits where interesting. We spent about half a day there but we relaxed and took our time.

I agree it's not the greatest aquarium we've ever been to (my favorite is Monterey Bay Aquarium), and yes the movie could have been longer, but I still think it was worth it. A lot of the exhibits are outside, and it's a lovely setting. We went on a whale watch in the morning, had breakfast at the Beach Bum, then toured the aquarium.

Also, we have been to Maui numerous times and there weren't a lot of other activities we were going to do that cost money.
