Do you have to accept an exchange or can you just put in and pay for an on-going search.

I think when you setup a search you accept to pay the appropriate exchange once you get a match. This means that if you get a match which to accept 11/1 then you pay the normal fee.

For ongoing searches you pay the fee at the time you put in the ongoing search. I put in an ongoing search but might not accept a match until 2-3 years later.

So I was wondering if the 25% was good for an ongoing search or only exchanges with a check in date no later than 11/1.

IMHO... If you paid the fee up front (there is a workaround), whenever you confirm a match, that is what you pay. At least, that's how it should work.

If a match is found after the offer expires, then you will be charged the price difference when booking the matched unit.

Keep in mind that the fee is a booking fee, not a search fee. So it makes sense (despite that it is annoying) that the booking fee will be whatever price is in effect at the time of booking.
