Clark County is working on a parking lot by the Las Vegas Sign ("Welcome to Las Vegas") on South Las Vegas Blvd. The lot will be done in December. It will provide twelve parking spots, two handicap spots and two bus spots. It will make it a lot safer to get your souvenir picture taken next to the sign.

The last, and only, time I visited, I failed to get the obigatory photo. I was at a conference at the JW Marriott and didn't get much time in town. What is the current situation? Is it difficult to park near the sign for a short time?

Thanks, Ray

PS I'll be there, at the Flamingo, 10 days.

Its not easy to park in the area without walking about a half block and then to the middle of the street. People do it, but be careful.

Fern: How good to hear that! We were in Vegas last July and wanted so badly to get our picture in front of the Las Vegas sign but every time we attempted to do this there were people there before us and we could not find anywhere to park. As far as parking a distance away and walking to the area for pictures.....we decided it was too dangerous and decided to forgo the picture. :bawl: When we return we will use the new parking area. Thanks for the information.
