Looking for suggestions for an Air Purifier with HEPA Filter for around $100.

Anyone have a Hunter Tower Air Purifier with EcoSilver & True HEPA Filter?
from Hunter or HSN - Approx. 7.7"L x 7.7"W x 16.7"H - Approx. 6.24 lbs.
Is it quiet? What room in the house do you use it in Bedroom/Living Room?
Are HEPA filters expensive? Anyone take their air purifier with them on vacation?

We use Honeywell HEPA Air Purifiers at home, 2 HPA300 and 2 HPA200, scattered across different rooms - living room, study, master bedroom and cat litter room. The replacement filters are expensive. With the 4 Honeywells, we have to change out the pre-filters every 3 months and R filters every year. I estimate annual replacement cost of genuine filters at around $300 to $400 per year. I have about 18 months of air filter replacement supply on hand at any point in time.

My allergist recommended that we put HEPA air purifiers at home because of my cat dander and several other allergies. Honestly I don't think it makes a difference. We have them in place because my husband insists on it for my health. If it were for me to decide, I won't have them. They run 24×7 and sure use plenty of electricity too.

We've had several Honeywells for years and they work well for my DH with major alleriges. They are more expensive though.

A couple of weeks ago I was visiting our condo in HH and realized we needed an air filter there. Went to the local WM and picked up a unit for $99. and really like it. Wish I could remember the brand name. It has a permanent filter that can be cleaned along with a blue light that kills mold spores. The footprint was smaller but the unit was taller than the Honeywells, which actually fit the space better too.

Love our new Hunter Tower Air Purifier with EcoSilver and True HEPA Filter.
It looks great in every room and is so quite you do not even know its on!
The filter pack is a little expensive coming in at just under $50 with tax &
shipping, but only needs to be replaced every 6 months under normal use.
