Amazon prices will go up and down like the stock market depending on supply and demand

The Today show tested this awhile back. Had several people watch the same item for a week or two and if I remember correctly it seems all items went up or down in price depending on day of week and current sales

Home Depot does the same
We bought a couple ceiling fans that were on clearance
Then decided to get a few more for my shop area etc and the price went up by the next day but they honored our original price. Said they went back up because they were selling them

Being from the West, I didn't think anything in New Hampshire coiuld be far from anything else in New Hampshire. :)
That reminds me of the story about the Vermont farmer who travelled to Texas to meet distant relatives there. When he arrived, the Texan proudly told the farmer about his property: "I get in my truck and drive 20 minutes east to reach that edge of the property," he said. "Then I turn right for 30 minutes to get to the south boundary. Then 25 minutes west to the west boundary, another 30 minutes north, and the the ranch is almost in sight."

"Aayyuhh," the farmer said. "Know what you mean. Had a truck like that once myself."

We once did a driving vacation from Texas to Montreal & Niagara Falls back to Texas. A few minutes after crossing the boarder into New Hampshire my husband pulled into a large gas station and said “Time to take a break, we’re half way across the state.”

My two daughter in laws were just comparing baby wipe prices. They were comparing Costco, Amazon and Target.

I don't do much ordering from Amazon but do shop at Costco every other month or so.

If you can go in Costco and just pick up and item or two, I will say that is awesome!!!!! I can never walk in there and stick to my list or two items . We were on our way home one day and decided to pick up something for dinner and I made sure we did not take a shopping cart inside. We still walked out with our hands full.

The trick is to go MORE often. Even if it’s just to browse things, check out the foods being sampled, or to find out what staples they carry regularly. That way, when you DO go to shop, you’ll know what you’re looking for, and you can more easily avoid the impulse buys.

It works for me. I’m in Costco two or three times a week, and I’m married to a built-in Costco delivery person, “Say, can you pick up a [whatever] from Costco before you come home tonight?” I still do a major shop at least every month or two.

Not a bad idea. It's just that it is not close to me and the place is always packed (think parking lot too) so I try not to go unless I really need to. Years ago, my sister lived two minutes away and she did just that.....run in a few times a week to get only what she needed. More or less like a supermarket. I am about 20/25 minutes away. Not too far, but not close enough for me to just browse in.

Definitely excellent strategy :)

I needed a new supply of lawn/leaf bags, and like these Kirkland brand bags. So I checked both places. At Amazon, they would magically appear on my porch for $29.99 if I wait for a week (Not Prime eligible) or $34.32 to have them arrive in two days.

Update! Bought 'em at my local Costco yesterday. $18.99. The savings bought a rotisserie chicken, AND a dog & Coke lunch. DEAL!
