Wouldn’t it be nice if Marriott Vacation Club could offer Preconstruction pricing , like the old days on an eventual new Systemwide Points product that would be good at any , or many MVCI or Vistana Properties ? Back in the day of Legacy Properties, there were some really good incentives to buy in early at a single property. Those days have been gone for sometime now, sadly.

I think they still offer good deals!

These days they are called pre price increase deals. :) You buy now to get ahead of the next increase in price per point. ;)

I just miss the old construction days. It seemed like we used to hear about a new resort a couple of time a year or more.

The first 3 Marriott Weeks we bought were all pre-construction, Sabal Palms, Heritage Club and Harbour Club. Later I bought a resale Monarch Week. This really helped me not lose money when I sold them...

My FIL walked into the trailer at Desert Springs Villas I and said “I want to buy a unit.” They told him he would need to go through a presentation first. He said “No. I just want to buy one.” I don’t know what incentives he got, but he was happy and still owns it. At first he had no interest in enrolling it when the DC was created, but after I shared information with him he enrolled it and has been electing points almost every year. He’s a happy camper.

Best regards.

I did essentially the same thing many moons ago when I bought my first TS Week, a pre-construction Sabal Palms Week. I was sitting in the airport waiting for my flight home after a week on HHI. I was reading the Hilton Head Island Packet newspaper. There were two full page ads, one for Sabal Palms and the other for Kemmons Wilson Holiday Inn TS Weeks. I decided on Marriott and Sabal Palms and called to 800 number. I bought sight unseen on that initial phone call. Salesman later told me it was his first and easiest sale. I now know it was stupid but it all worked out. We used the Week for 4 or 5 years and sold it for about what we paid for it...
