If you are seriously worried about power outages a cheap simple remedy is a cell phone battery for recharges.

I do have one of those thingamajigs that you can take on the go in case your cell phone is losing charge and you can plug the phone into it to keep it going. I guess it is a battery of some sort.

When I built my house I didn’t include phone jacks as part of the electrical plan

Leave it on, charging overnight. Imagine this scenario: you are awakened in the middle of the night by the sounds of someone breaking into your house. You reach for your phone to IMMEDIATELY dial 911. And now... you’re waiting for it to “boot up.”

I thought about not doing that as well, but since they were one of the few things the builder did include we took them just in case and putting in the twobedrooms. LOL!

Glad they threw that in! I was blown away how quickly electrical upgrades added up. I put outlets in all my closets. My builder thought it was so odd but I love it. My Dyson vacuum charges in the utility closet. I have a mesh WiFi router tucked in another. My Apple Watch charges in my closet each night. I hate cords etc so having this stuff in closets is my simple pleasure. Anyways, I’m way off topic here. You will LOVE your new home
