Did I say to watch out for exorbitant dealer fees? You need to ask the dealer early in the discussion to tell you all added fees. Documentation fees, taxes, those are pretty straightforward. BUT we went to one dealer that was going to add on $2500 in fees for assorted ridiculous crap--including fees for paying cash!

I have always told the salespeople upfront that the only number I was interested in negotiating was the one that would be on the bank draft I'd bring them. How they divided it up didn't matter to me, but I wouldn't pay a cent more than we had agreed to for any other additions or fees.

We just gave new home to Hyundai Accent hatchback 2014, 68000miles, one owner from CO traded it in on 9/20. Paid exactly what I wanted to spend, drove it home up the hills. Looking forward to drive it to MN mid October. Thank you TUGers for your valuable advice.
