Good to know. I also found out there is no penalty for renewing early. You can renew up to a year before Global Entry expires and it will be go for 5 years after your original expiration date.

This is great news, especially in light of the huge backlog of renewals that the Customs and Border Protection Service is dealing with as a result of the government shutdown earlier this year.

My husband renewed his recently. Took about 3 weeks altogether, and no interview. It was great! Mine has yet to come due, so I’m hoping for a similar speedy result. But it’s good to know there is a cushion built in.

I looked up and found my old approval email. I tried logging into my TSA account but they want you to create a new account and authentication and was somewhat of a pain in the bottom

But once the new account is set up it's pretty easy to use. The only "pain" is that you have to get authenticated each time you log in. But, what I mean by "easy" is that when dd got a new passport she was able to easily go in online and enter her new passport number.
