Is there a Category 4 hotel that is a good use of Suite Night upgrades?

I have a 5 night Category 1-4 hotel certificate. I also have 5 night Suite Award that expires at the end of this year.

Just wondering if there are Category 4 hotels out there that would be a good use of Suite Night Awards?

Your best bet is the boutique brands because they have more unique upgrades. I used one at the Battle House in Mobile, AL but it was one night. Using 5 is tough because the upgrade has to be available for all 5 nights at 5 days or less from check-in. And they have to actually want to fulfill your request. Those are big ifs.

Suite Nights has turned into a bit of a scam in my opinion for two reasons. At first you could select any suite available but now they are limiting it to only the lower upgrades. The second reason is that supposedly you get the upgrade request if the suite is available. This apparently is at the discretion of the individual property. The suite might be available but they can decline to fulfill the request. It could even go empty. It happened to me. I loved suite nights at first but after realizing it is really false advertising, not so much.

We just used a 5 night upgrade and a 5 night certificate at the Alongquin St Andrews by the Sea New Brunswick. We were upgraded to a one bedroom suite. It is an exceptional hotel, used to be a Fairmont, for a cat. 4.
