I have not flown with a carry on for awhile and I was surprised to read the size has shrank. My old bag is 24' tall. Now most airlines only allow 22' tall.

I would like to find a set with another bag that has a strap that allows you to put it on top of the larger bag, fits under the seat and counts a personal item.

Suggestions ?

We used TravelPro and Costco Kirkland brands. Both have held up over the past thirty’s years of domestic and international travels.

Luggage companies thirty years ago included everything in their luggage purchases liked shoe bags, ID tags, locks, etc. Now you must purchase those items separated. Luggage was heavy and must better constructed. Today’s luggage are lighter and are all made over seas. IMO.

I would head over to Ross and see what they have. I currently use a fairly ugly Perry Ellis hard side (love those!) that doesn't look like anyone else's and it was only $50 so in 10 years when it dies, I won't care. We have some Olympia's that are at least 10 years old and still hanging tough. If I was traveling all the time I would care more about the quality, but I only do about 6 trips a year, so they last long enough.

I love my victorinox lexicon extra capacity spinner. Only place that has it anymore is Best Buy. It’s pricy but I’ve gone away two weeks with it. I just put all shoes and toiletries in a backpack.

TravelPro, we have three sizes. Many overseas flights ( 30+) either checked in or carry on. Sometimes we have to pay for carry-on on European budget airlines extra fee.
