It seems SW is making serious inroads (pun intended) to Hawaii over the legacy carriers. We were on the inaugural SW flight info Maui. I'd do it again.

Our inter-island fares were $29 from HNL to KOA for midweek flights and $39 from LIH to HNL on the weekend and it includes 2 bags each! I have always like Hawaiian, but their fares were $110 and $74 each and then we had baggage fees on top of that! A bit of competition is a great thing!

When (or how often) does Southwest release dates? The latest date one could possibly book right now is March 6, 2020.
Do they release dates weekly? bi weekly?

Usually every few months.

You can check their website to see when the next date will be. It's under "Check Flight Schedules".

We are currently accepting air reservations through March 6, 2020. On September 26, 2019 we will open our schedule for sale through April 13, 2020. This date is subject to change! Please check back frequently.

Not really weekly or bi-weekly. It seems about every two months.

They used to open reservations in synchrony with the March and November time changes, like four months or so before. Now it seems a little more random.
