RCI has an ad saying you can buy 150,000 points without buying a timeshare. 1.5 cents per point with $150/annual membership.

Is this a good deal to try before buying a TS and is it actually true?

How easily can you get good places through RCI at peak times?

Trying to sift through the info.

Secondly, what’s the best value for the buck when it comes to all the different timeshares?

TIA

It’s common to see points available from RCI members for $0.01 so $0.015 is not a good deal.

When you use points with points partners you get a value on them of $0.004 maybe a bit higher. So about a quarter of the value you bought them for.

Many resorts require 17,000 —> 50,000 points for a week so 150,000 RCI points for exchanging could get you a great amount of holiday but normally you need to book a year or more in advance to get what you want when you want it. Compromise is commonplace.

So hopefully the points will roll over for a free into the 2nd year for a longer use period.

If buying a timeshare to get points there is lots of research on here and ahead of you.

Good luck.

Plenty of Timeshares rentals available here on TUG. Suggest you actually rent a week in a resort and location which is of interest to you to see if it's a good fit for your lifestyle.

If so, study up and do your homework prior to making any commitment to purchase.

Plenty of people here on TUG are kicking themselves for not doing their due diligence in advance.

Best of luck!

Thank you for the advice. I’ll think on this.

Renting is a good way to try out the product before you buy. Do your own due diligence. A lot of information on TUG to help you become a informed buyer.
