I know 120000 gets you 50k airmiles in AA. I can't find in jetblue, anyone know ?
I know AA is 1:3 and Jetblue is 1:6 but how does that equate to free trips ?

Jetblue is like Southwest. It depends on how much the flight costs rather than a flat 25k, etc. It also depends on whether you want to check bags, get an upgraded seat, etc. Go search for flights and it will show you the number of points needed. They go get the points.

Looks like AA is a little better value. Is there any airline that is consider the best to convert ? I know the travel packages are the best but just straight bonvoy to airlines ? I work for Marriott so can get good rooms, just want to decide what to do with like 120,000 Bonvoy points after I do a travel package, that's what I have left over

You are asking a hard question because the answer isn't that simple. I'll use United as an example. Because I'm with Mileage Plus I can see more flights for miles than the general public. Sometimes there are really good deals (mostly on flights that aren't filling up quickly).

I don't think that the travel packages are that great any more to be honest. It is an enormous outlay of points to get the better hotel categories. I find it just as easy to transfer Bonvoy points to miles to fill in gaps where I'm just short on a trip.

I have always done packages before. I needed some United miles to top off my wife's account to book an international Business Saver Award. I have always done packages previously but the math does not look so favorable anymore. Especially when Marriott is no longer allowing upgrades to the hotel category and we don't know if they allow extensions.

If I figure out correctly for a Cat 6 5-night package with 50,000 miles it is 315,000 points. If United you would get an extra 4,000 miles. A 5-night stay in a Cat 6, with the 5th night free, is 200,000 points and it would cost 120,000 Bonvoy points for 50,000 miles, so you are only saving 5,000 points with the package.

Doing the math for Cat 7 and CAt 8, it looks like it costs a few more points to book the 5-night package than doing the stay and miles separately.

7 Night packages may pencil out differently.

The cat 5 travel package, which I am getting is a great deal because you basically get 100,000 air miles for for 180,000 where normally it's 240,000 so a nice saving. I am just seeing what i should do with my extra 150,000 bonvoy since I get Marriott discounts on hotels. Any suggestions ? I get most hotels from $69 to $129 so think another 50k AA miles would be best

I think you are looking at the old points chart or maybe I don't understand your math

Cat 5 for 6 nights and one free would be 210,000 points. 50,000 air miles would be 120,000 points. , that's 330,000 points. For 60,000 more you get an additional 50,000 air miles. savings of 60,000 points

If I am looking at the charts correctly for the room/miles 5-night hotel packages, if you want 100,000 miles it is still a deal for only 50,000 miles not so much.

If I am looking at the updated chart- 5 nights Cat 6+ 50,000 miles = 315,000 points. If you did this separately 200,000 points for the hotel room for 5 nights with 5th night free + 120,000 points for 50,000 miles= 320,000 points so only saving 5,000 points.

For package with 100,000 miles, you would save as package cost is 390,000 points and individual cost would be 200,000 points for hotel +240,000 points for 100,000 miles= 440,000 points, saving 50,000 points.

Did I do the math correctly or am I off?

I don't have the 5 night, I was doing 7 but pretty sure you are correct. The 100,000 air miles is a nice savings, 50,000 not nearly as much in either 5 night or 7 night

My only comment is that you are wasting a lot of points on the hotel part if you can get the nights for the prices you mentioned earlier in the thread.
