we did the auditions portion, paid it off and last Sunday we became owners buying the smallest point package they had 90k points EOY. We kept saying no, and they kept coming back with a “better offer because we don’t want you to miss out on this opportunity”. I see that we are still in time to cancel our ownership however will we get any of our money back from the auditions portion? I paid close to 4K, for 300k audition points. We had 15k points remaining, if we don’t get any money back that’s ok too. I’d rather feel I overpaid for a couple stays versus feeling like I’m stuck in something i don’t fully understand. I also want to know if our exit letter have to be notarized. Thank you for your helpful threads.

Sorry you got sucked into a sales' presentation. I found Welk to be extremely pushy, and that was many years ago.

So apparently they weren't going to let you go until you bought something--anything. I know you probably felt you should buy something, but you need to rescind right away and be done with it for good. There are Welk packages on eBay. If you like Welk, buy one for less than $1,000 with a good amount of points, but I don't know what benefits you lose as a resale buyer. I think that is a question someone else can answer.

the rescission letter does not need to be notarized. You don't need to state a reason. It DOES need to be postmarked within the allowable time frame. I can't say whether you'll get back the 'audition' portion of the purchase, but you will be released from the contract. Keep the letter simple, and include a copy of the signature page for ID purposes.

Welcome to TUG!

Thank you, I’m fairly new to this. I just sent my recession letter and the notice of cancellation rights paper that came in our contract, as well as the first page of our original contract. I’m glad I found this site in time to cancel (on day 5). I will be sending it via fax as well just to make sure it’s sent and done. I will definitely do better research.
