Has anyone used resale prices as a negotiating tactic with Hyatt Sales?

Aloha TUG BBS...

Just a tad bit curious about whether anyone has ever tried to use resale pricing as a negotiating tactic when dealing with Hyatt Sales people to see if they would budge on price?

Asking this with the total understanding that the first bit of advice is to buy resale.

Thanks!

In simplest terms - it won't work. Sometimes incentives can be negotiated, but not price.

Thanks Denise. I'm not surprised to hear that but had to ask to see if anyone had at least tried.

It's like going into Macy's and picking out a new coat that costs $200 and telling the clerk that you saw the same coat, never worn, at Goodwill for $20, so you'd like to offer $50.

It does seem like portfolio negotiates on price which makes it more difficult. When we declined they asked us to make an offer.

“Ok Hyatt rep, you put points in my account, and I’ll pay the maintenance fees on them.”

;)
From now on, I want Sapper in my boardroom during capital equipment pricing negotiations.

Perhaps not with Hyatt but I have negociated price on DRI, WMTC, and Royal Solaris. But not based upon resell pricing.
