We have the flex program purchased through the developer and are looking to add more flex points through resale. Is there any difference in using those points versus developer? (Other than not being able to convert to staroptions or whatever it is for hotels which I’m fine with). Just want to make sure we could use the new points to help book at the 12-8 month mark. Thanks.

If you buy Flex Options on the resale market, you would only be able to use them in the Group that you buy and they would not change into Star Options to use in the rest of the system at 8 months. You also wouldn’t be able to convert to Bonvoy Points and they wouldn’t count towards Elite Status.

A few in S and VA, a single resort in NC, MD, PA, and UT, plus Jamaica and the Bahamas
I am not sure they would be able to combine in the same account. You might have to have 2 separate accounts and if you want to use them for a single vacation, you might have to book 3 nights from one account and 2 from the other. You wouldn't have the option of banking unused points from the resale account- your only banking options would be to use in II which you would likely have to pay for a separate account- again probably not combinable with your retail points.

is there a resort where you want to go more often? There are 3 flex programs Westin Aventuras, Westin Flex and Sheraton Flex and they include different home resorts. You may be able to make it work if your favorite resorts are part of the Flex you buy. I did not see any Westin Aventura resale, i think the most common on the market is Sheraton Flex. It just seems that you cannot combine the points, even at 8 months.

They would be in the same Vistana account. You would be able to make consecutive bookings at the 12 month mark. Developer purchases have the privilege of being able to book other VSN resorts at the 8 month mark, and the conversion to Bonvoy points.you would see both contracts separately in the same account.
