Whatever the price was at Costco that day × 22 gallons.

That is pretty good mpg for a v8. 490 / 22 = about 22 mpg. Whats the dealio ?

Whatever. I know my Tundra is looking for gas by about 300 miles give or take.

Two things from Reno to Salem is generally down hill. Sure you go up and down but there is a lot more down than up. Also in 2014 Chevrolet introduced an engine that goes from 8 cylinders to 4 cylinders when the load is reduced on the engine - flat and level or downhill.

Crews punched through Going-to-the-Sun highway in Glacier Park on June 6, breaking through 40-80 foot deep snow 2 days earlier this year than last. They estimate it will be fully open to traffic on June 22, 2019.

We are leaving in a few weeks on a road trip. First stop will be a week in Park City and then onto Boise, Kalispell, and back down through Idaho to Las Vegas and on home (Orange County, CA).

Looking for any suggestions on must-sees.
On your drive north from Boise (why are you travelling so far west to reach Kalispell?), exit US-95 at White Bird, ID and take the Old Highway 95 up White Bird Hill. It is like Lombard Drive in San Francisco, but on a grander scale -- 2700' elevation gain in 7 miles. It is much more scenic than the "new" highway.

The side trip will add about 1/2 hour to your travel time, including some photo ops. Time well spent in my opinion.

We have friends in Boise and will be staying there for a couple nights before going to Kalispell.

Check out Barbacoa and/or Cottonwood Grille. Bring cash. lots of cash. :) Less cash, more fun- the Basque Block or Highland Hollow brew pub. :)

Great bbq in Missoula at the notorious pig if you are there at meal time
Haven’t been to this place but driving from Missoula to Kalispell on HWY 93, we made a stop at Cherries BBQ Pit in Polson near the Flathead Lake. Best BBQ we have had in MT.
Also, if you plan on visiting Waterton, you might want to make a reservation for the boat ride on the lake. Simply beautiful. We made the reservation online a few days prior to arrival.

In Boise check out the World Center for Birds of Prey and then onto the Snake River Birds of Prey National Conservation area overlooking the Snake River. Lookup Celebration Park (also on the Snake River) and check out the Indian hieroglyphs that are 100 to 10,000 years old and the huge eagle nest located across the river on the canyon wall below the rim. Idaho/Montana weather can be a issue. Today in Boise high was 62 next Wednesday the high is forecast for 92 and it could be back to the 60's the following week. Evenings can be cool. We just returned from Bozeman Montana this past Monday and snow level is still around 6500' but is retreating rapidly. Enjoy your trip.
