Need help.....I've been to Morritt's Tortuga on exchange twice before and I am trying to exchange again for April 2020. I am looking for a 2 bedroom but availability doesn't happen until end of May. Is there a better time to start looking for April 2020 or have I missed my window of opportunity? Thank you!

You may have missed the deposits for April 2020 plus a couple of other factors may not be in your favor. April is still a month that is pretty heavily booked by owners so there aren’t as many weeks deposited. And you don’t say if you are exchanging thru RCI or II but Morritts has switched to bulk banking with II. They still bank owners weeks with RCI but not near the quantity as in the past, so if using RCI not as much to choose from.

If you must have April, you could put in an ongoing search and hope for a cancellation or late deposit. Or you could rent a week from an owner. Most owners usually just charge their MF. You can find rentals on the FB page Morritts Grand Resort Owners group. HTH

Thank you for your reply. It's not my ideal date, but May 31 was available for a 2 bedroom at Tortuga so I reserved that before it went away. I've been there twice before -- once during Hurricane Ivan (enjoyed our week and on day of departure, Morritt's mgmt evacuated us to a hurricane shelter, "vacation" was extended about 4 days before we could get off the island) and next trip was 2009 (?).

I exchanged through RCI.

Glad you were able to get a week even if it wasn’t your first choice. A lot of owners have decided to stay with RCI so there should still be deposits in the future. Have a great trip! We obviously love it there.
