we are currently on a 3 week trip to Europe. All hotel rooms.

Last year, we did 3 weeks in Maui, Aulani and Seattle, all in at least a one bedroom.

Good God, do we miss the extra space , a kitchen and laundry!

I’m way too damn cheap to spend $15 to get a pair of shorts washed.

Sink, soap and hope it really is quick dry!

I checked both RCI and Interval, it seems most of the European Timeshares are not located in major cities, they all seem to be located outside the major tourist areas Rome, Naples etc. The size is also smaller with less amenities. I am not an expert or maven in this area, just an observation.

To the OP, most regular hotel room are small in Europe compared to US hotel rooms IMO; with the exception of their hotel suites.

The things we liked about staying in Europe hotels are their, bathrooms, breakfast menus and their Afternoon tea.

We stayed at a "hotel" in London that had the smallest bathroom I've ever seen. It was obvious the bathroom was an add-on to the original property. It was definitely a one person bathroom and you could literally do it all from one place.

On the other hand the room was quite large and the breakfast, which was included, was a full English breakfast and amazing.

Our hotel room in Paris was very small, but the marble bathroom was enormous. Almost as large as the hotel room.

We have actually had decent sized rooms for hotels.

Sheraton Diana in Milan (don’t recommend) and Marriott Grand Flora in Rome.

The big things are just those things that make ts more home like. I’m not good having to eat at a certain time. My wife and daughter and super scheduled. Many times I will drop them at the restaurant and take a walk. I can’t eat when I’m not hungry. It’s a medical thing.

We did some “shower” laundry, but of course, my advice to pack quick drying clothes went unheeded, and since I know better than bring it up again, some of us have damp clothes 2 days later....

The main thing that I miss is the separate living room/bedroom. That is a tough adjustment to just live in a single room for an entire trip!

Ask the front desk where the closest coin operated laundry is. We go away to Europe and stay in hotels and can always find them, either from the front desk or putting in the search engine laundry mat in what ever city I am in. I even found one in Bucharest

We've found we prefer the "wash and fold" laundry services to a coin operated (unless it's in the hotel we are staying in). We can drop the laundry, and pick it up later (we've found some places that will even deliver back to the hotel). No need to sit around the laundromat and wait, taking time out of our vacation time.

Any longer term trip is really difficult in hotels other than Residence Inn or similar properties IMO. Locations are great, usually within walking distance to restaurants and shops, but hotel rooms are to sleep in, not to relax and spend hours/days.
