The website is near unusable. Frustrated to pay a membership fee every year and not have a half decent website to use for booking rooms.

Why should it take five minutes to log on?

When I search on my IphoneX for rooms at elara it also brings up options at Scotland!?!

Am I the only one having difficulty using this site?

I haven’t experienced your problem but get extremely annoyed at another.

Numerous occasions I select a reservation at 12 midnight when it first becomes available, get through entering my credit card information and then told it’s not available.

Walking southwest Florida reservations online also doesn’t work, a pain to have to call to do it.

Also find many times the link to rci is not working.

Typed in Elara, no dates, pulled up available list in 6 seconds.

Never had an issue. Big improvement over the old 2 systems they had - I especially like the at-a-glance chart which shows all availability for all room types.

I suspect delays might be an iPhone or connectivity issue. I use a PC with windows and sometimes android. There are drop downs under the "Destinations' tab where you can select Elara only and not see the other resorts.

I also always book via a Mac computer. I really haven’t had the issues which you describe. I find the mobile app to be way more difficult to use than the regular web.

When they first launched the website there were many problems, however, they have cleared up many of them. I used Safari as the browser in past years and found problems so I use Google Chrome which has helped considerably.

I haven't had the problems that were mentioned previously, however, I will mention 2 problems that still annoy me. One is that a certain times it seems that the website is searching endlessly to go where I clicked to go. I just give up and come back later since I believe the website must be down or having problems that I can't solve. The second is that even though you can extend reservations for up to 28 nights, you can't book one on line for over 24 nights. I have reported that to HGVC call center a number of times over the last 2 years, however, they don't seem like they can fix it. Last year you could book up to 26 nights and had to call for the 2 additional nights. This year you need to call for 4 additional nights.

Ever since recent changes (and even before) it's worked like a charm for me, and allowed me to do the things I need to do usually quickly and efficiently. Definitely not had the problems OP describes in a very long time.

The web site has been working just fine for me as well. I think they have finally gotten over the hump with the "new" design and has been quite stable for several months now.

I have had experiences like this. I always use Safari Browser so maybe it is a compatibility issue.

Didn’t even know they have an app. Downloading now.

The IT department (to my knowledge) has not fixed the West 57th booking problem that I had more than a few times, where I want to add a night on to an existing one night reservation and it returns an error every time. I have reported the problem twice and been assured both times that someone will follow up with me, but months (or a year) go by and I don't hear anything. Maybe it's fixed by now...I'll have to try it out the next time I need to book.

I have reported the problem with extending nights beyond 24 or 26 nights at least 10 times over the last 2 years. I report it every time I need to call in to have the call center extend my nights since the website can't. They have NEVER followed up. I think that when the IT people either can't or don't want to fix a problem they just ignore it and the member who bothered them by bring it up. Perhaps I will send them an e-mail and ask for a response!

I imagine that it isn't high on HGVC IT list because that issue doesn't occur very often.

I looked at the poll, but it doesn't seem to have an option for those of us who continue to hve no problem with the site and find that it does what we need it to do quite well.

Perhaps add a response that reflects that viewpoint?

I downloaded the app. Much faster than using safari. Would be nice if the booking searches displayed results the same way as an internet browser so you don’t have to figure out how to use two different systems. They both work fine but my preference is the internet browser style as you can see what rooms are available and not available. The app only shows what rooms are available making it tougher to know what other types of rooms could be available if you aren’t familiar with that resort.

Luckily I know of the sticky showing the breakdown of each resort. I refer to it all the time. It actually helped me decide what rooms to buy resale.

I'm relatively new to HGVC, but have stayed in 3 of the resorts and have booked holidays coming up for Carlsbad, Cabo and King Land. The web site has worked fantastic and I have zero complaints - although I would like to see all resorts bookable online. I don't see a single reason why I should have to call in for some bookings - but maybe that is a work in progress. But as it is this is FAR easier than going to your local travel agent or trying to book through Air BnB to organize a holiday. Timesharing, no matter what, is a language of it's own and it takes perseverance and learning to make it work for you, but it does work and the results are fantastic. I was fairly well versed in RCI before jumping into the HGVC world so maybe that helped smooth the rough edges, and perhaps I avoided problems by only using my desk top computer for bookings. Also we only make plans or bookings when my wife and I sit down together so that we can double check each other.

As I mentioned above last when booking in 2018 I could extend reservations online up to 26 nights. In 2019 only up to 24 nights. The nights I am booking now are for 2020 stays. Have you tried extending nights beyond 24 nights this year?
