Looking to purchase a RedWeek resale, curios to see if anyone has purchased from or sold their timeshare from this particular company? All information greatly appreciated.

One doesn't buy from or sell to Redweek. Redweek is merely a bulletin board for posting ads. One deals with the owner/buyer/renter directly.

Note: Redweek does provide a "verified" service in which it does play go-between. Various threads on this board have panned that service, but that is a separate issue.

Is this an ebay seller calling themselves RedWeek resales or are you just looking at a generic resale on Redweek.com?

So apparently this is a broker who is negotiating between myself and the seller, do you think this is legitimate?

It may or may not be legitimate.

My best suggestion would be to hire your own closing agent to handle the escrow and all documentation. Doing so will assure that they represent you and protect your funds.

Suggest you check: www.LTTransfers.com

They are highly recommended by others here on TUG.

Many brokers advertise units on Redweek. There is nothing wrong with that.

But I agree with TheTimeTraveler's advice to have an independent escrow agent handle the transaction. You also want an "estoppel letter" -- a document prepared by the homeowners' association or its representative, not a document prepared by the broker or owner -- confirming what you are buying: the unit size, season, view, status of maintenance fees, etc. The escrow agent can obtain this for you (cost varies, generally $50-$100; money well spent).

I have purchased and sold through through Redweek and haven’t had any issues. If it’s a broker, they will use their preferred Service. If Redweek, it’s normally TSRC. And if an owner, you can request LT.

Several years ago I bought a DRI Hawaiian Collection Account through Redweek. It was one of the "Full Service" deals. Which meant I was suppose to buy Closing Costs, etc. I told Redweek I would only pay the sale price. They went back to the Seller and I guess they agreed to pay all those other fees. So I got the Account for $1.

There is a timeshare closing & escrow company in Florida called "TRCS, Inc". Likely it's that one, as my timeshare agent/ broker referred my purchase to TRCS too.

Redweek also does a full service resale where they have brokers that work between you and the seller. If it indicates "This is a RedWeek.com full-service posting" at the bottom of the listing details, then it is a Redweek brokered resale.

I recently bought a resale week off Redweek website last month. When I contacted them initially, it went to a realtor. Everything was handled by them (paperwork, negotiating, etc). Everything went well and I had a good experience. I would recommend them.

That's exactly what it says, also everything is verified.

How long did everything take from start to finish?

Just a bit of advice however, negotiation and paperwork may be considered two separate parts. First you agree on a price, which may be on first contact or even days later. Once the contract is signed, a good estimate in most cases would be four to six weeks. Nailing down an exact time frame is difficult.

About 3.5 months. Started negotiations end of Feb, seller agreed in beginning of March, all paper work was sent to myself and seller in April and then it was up to us and the seller to get the paper work notarized, and signed and sent back. We were kept up to date regarding the process from Redweek through out. Redweek did tell us that Marriott can take 4-6 weeks once they receive the paperwork to process everything on their end. We got our email from Marriott within a week or two that everything was final. All in all, about 3.5 months.

We just started a purchase on Redweek, so far the communication has been outstanding. Sales agent sent me her cell number and she walked through the whole process with us. So far so good, fingers crossed.

Hopefully, they have fixed those issues. Once the manager took over our purchase, it improved greatly. We first contacted Redweek in the beginning of June, our sales contract was signed by both parties beginning of July and we had our deed the middle of September, so about 3.5 months.
