Was walking on beach at WKORV. Police ATV on sand. Police jet skis in water. Signs on beach. Police said person was swimming and got eaten by shark and died yesterday. Said there will be helicopter coming to monitor water.

Heard on local news last night. Supposed to be someone from the Bay Area staying or in front of Kaanapali Shore. Be safe please...

I posted yesterday in the Hawaii forum. We spoke to the guy in front of our building and some other people at Maui Brewing last night. The local story is that he was swimming where there is a shelf/drop off and that there is a lot of food there. He supposedly lost his left leg just above the knee and between bleeding and shock, he passed away. Folks at the bar heard that it was a reef shark but were in disbelief and suspected a juvenile tiger. Either way, so sad.

I was out freediving near Black Rock and the potrol came by on a jet ski and told me to head in.
I know it doesn't console this family or others that have been attacked by sharks, but we are visitors in their ocean.

Heard on news last night. This was very very sad. Supposedly his wife was watching in horror as they tried to treat him.
