On another thread I posted about a lawyer on Just Answer stating about an obvious scammer "I have confirmed not a scam". I've been reading some other posts at Just Answer and there are a few interesting timeshare stories. One stood out as a good example as to why these scammers remain in business year after year. That reason is that the scammers have no shortage of willing victims.

The link below is about a Mexican timeshare owner who was contacted out of the blue with an offer of $418,000 for their timeshare. All they had to do was pay $66,000 which would be reimbursed at closing. The lawyer in this case quickly called it out as a scam but the seller did not want to accept that as an answer.

isnt just mexican timeshares, these same scams have existed in the US for decades as well!

every single one of them relies on convincing an owner to send money.

The lawyer in this case quickly called it out as a scam but the seller did not want to accept that as an answer.

Which also explains why so many fall for the infamous Nigerian prince scam. By one stretch, they are pretty sure it's a scam, but in the back of their minds they are holding on to a faint hope that it might be legitimate and don't want to be kicking themselves later just in case they lost out on this 'opportunity".
