Question?

Does MULTIZ321 have a life beyond finding mostly interesting non-timeshare stuff to post on TUG?

Personally and no offense, but for a while I actually hid the TUG Lounge from my list of "Unread Posts". There were so many of these threads that they were mostly all that I saw and it made it harder to find the ones that I would most likely be interested in.

I find the articles interesting and helpful. And they do lead to some good discussions. Richard is a diversified reader, which makes him a very interesting and knowledgeable person.

I don't read all the articles, but I do find myself reading many of them. Very enjoyable!

Evidently Richard has a much better sense of humor than I do because I personally find this thread out of line. Over the years I have found many great articles due to his research and sharing. Thanks for sharing Richard.

I took this thread to be a bit tongue-in-cheek and certainly not out of line. It just depends on your interpretation; I guess one can find a negative spin to anything if they look hard enough. I have found Richard to have a good sense of humor and enjoy many of his posts. I voted "No Way!" with that in mind. ;)

Richard has PM'd me that he posts these things in an effort to 'pay back' the generosity of TUGgers who've offered him helpful information. Personally, I seldom click on an unsolicited link in anyone's post unless it's a subject I already have interest in, and even less so when no commentary by the poster is included in the original post. Many TUGgers seem to like Richard's non-timeshare related posts, so I just accept it for what it is, and may or may not check the point of view of the post. I am glad to see that Richard attributes his links to the source, so no one need be confused that the views expressed are his.

I take them in the spirit in which they are intended.

DRIless - I could ask you the same question, because it appears that you spent a lot of time on a silly poll and post.

Some of us has been timeshare owners for so long, know the ropes, yet we still hang out here anyway. We are a community of so many interests and a have wealth of knowledge amongst us and I enjoy our off-topic discussions as much as I have appreciated the time share knowledge and help I've received over the years. This is often the first place I turn to if I want to ask of other's experiences in many areas. I see the TUG Lounge and Vacation Travel Information boards as the places where Richard's posts generate much discussion. I have bookmarked so many of the articles he posts for the "if I get to or need" down the road. I appreciate that he finds and posts them. If it's not a topic I'm interested in, I skip it.

Some of us have a sense of humor and some don't. Anyone who can't put together the poll, post #1, and post #2; and not realize what was meant, obviously has no sense of humor. Don't look in the mirror too hard, it might crack.

Personally, I enjoy many of the articles and subsequent discussion of the articles that Richard posts. My best guess is that anyone that read this poll called "question" and actually replied may have nothing better to do anyway.:D

Richard is one of TUG's greatest assets.

Thank you Richard for what you do, brother.:clap::clap::clap::clap:

Whether he has another life or not, I sincerely like the one I see.
I've always thought Richard to be well-read and knowledgeable about a lot of things,
hence his interest in passing along fun facts. And many times he cracks me up, and who doesn't need that?

If anyone doesn't care for what he does, DON'T READ HIS THREADS!!!
And for goodness' sake, keep it to yourself or go sit in "time out".

He's a breath of fresh air!
Not a day goes by that I don't enjoy several of Richard's threads,
and it will be a sad day when and if he decides to do other things with his time.

Here's the deal: You are a TUG Guest, poking fun at a long time, well liked TUG member. Then, after Tuggers disagree with you, you double down. That's unlikely to be a successful gambit here on TUG.

I did think the initial post was in jest, but after reading some of the OPs follow up, it seems that it wasn't

I like Richard’s links. I click and read some of them. Others I scroll past. It saves me from being the only one who posts weird things here. LOL!

I see Tug as a big party, with many conversations happening all at once, on a wide variety of topics. Not everything has to be serious discussions about one topic. That’s kind of what the Lounge is for. It’s a great diversion.

Now, what were we saying about boiled pizza?

I fully agree with Dave'/s point above, but let me offer a slightly different POV on Richard - when I first came by these parts, I was puzzled as to who Richard was and what his purpose was here. One of my first thoughts was TUG had been infested by a SPAM-bot because a good number of his posts are OP in a thread and can look a lot like an attempt to get users to hit on click bait. Now I say that NOT for the purpose of defaming Richard, rather to make this suggestion: like characters in a play, there are people here who fill roles - some roles formal, others implied. Clearly Richard falls into the implied category and for the TUG visitor who has not, does not, or will not take the time to dig a bit further, he would be easy to dismiss.

Of course, a person who ignores Richard is missing a contribution that might be equated to an acquired taste - you have to spend some time reading Richard to see what he is about.

So what am I saying here - perhaps we should write a bio about Richard - something that explains him to the passerby.

And perhaps see if that bio (or thread) could be stickied in the Lounge.........sound crazy?
