I will have to read more carefully, but when I needed in home help after knee replacement, the dr office arranged it. I didn’t pay someone $180,000 plus a thousand a month to arrange it.
That is what I was thinking when I read it. When you need home care- you call an agency or hire someone privately. What is with the $180,000? Then when/if you need assisted living you deal with it.
BTW- we visited a CCRC last week in NH in the North Country. $8000 buy in for a couple for Independent living cottage and $3100 per month. A not-for profit. Everything pretty much included and supplied in the cottage and they take care of the inside and outside. You can buy vouchers to eat in the dining room whenever you like also. It was near a small town with basics, but a much further drive to a bigger town.
They have assisted living there, too in case.
Only issue- they do not allow guns even in the Independent living cottages and hubby is a hunter and loves skeet shooting and target practice, so that was a deal breaker.
Not to mention our financial advisor recommended against a long term rental instead of a home purchase.
