Looking at buying resale HGVC. Currently thinking we would buy 8,400 points. Our travel dates are very flexible and we tend to travel during "non-peak" seasons with 4 people (2 adults, 2 kids). We take about 4 weeks of vacation per year. Looking to maximize our points. A lot of our travel is to Florida, so if we spent all of our 4 weeks in Florida, we could do it almost all on points (a few nights OS and/or HH points). While Hilton certainly has a lot of options for various locations, not all of the locations on our bucket list are included. Can you all give me an idea of what we could do with our point allocation if we wanted to stay someplace in Arizona, Greece, Minnesota, Texas, or other random places? Without access to an RCI account, this is a bit of a mystery to me. Maybe there is a thread that already discusses this topic?

Thanks, all!

You have access to a free RCI account via HGV.

3400 points for a 1br and 4800 for 2BR. The rates don’t fluctuate like TPU.

You can search RCI resorts by region from the link below.

https://www.rci.com/resort-directory/landing

Just because the resort is in the directory doesn’t mean it is there to book for any time or date you need. Someone who owns at that resort would need to deposit their specific week in order for RCI members to have access to it. To be truly successful, one should put in an on-going search (OGS) for what they want. In theory, if one pops up the one with the OGS would get the first opportunity to book it. If not, then it goes to the general pool of available resorts.

I haven’t played around in the HGVC RCI portal much but I have read that HGVC screens out certain resorts that they feel are a lower tier resort than HGVC (which most are anyway, IMO). If you have one that isn’t showing due to this you can call and they would book it for you.
