Cool! Looks like we are on one of the inaugural flights San Jose- Maui later this month. These inter-island flights is will sure make adding an island to timeshare stays more viable. You won't have to just look at back-to-back weeks in the same place.

Just booked a hoppa from OGG-HNL in October. Totally cheap and free bags which I don't get on Hawaiian or Mokulele.

I couldn't care less about SW flights to Hawaii from the mainland. That didn't really do much for me. But this bit of news is fantastic. Finally some needed interisland competition from a carrier who's not at risk of imminent bankruptcy.

But what are their baggage fees?

Kurt

Mokulele charged us $20 for one bag. Hawaiian charges $30 I believe.

I'm always a carry on guy but my petite little wife brings enough clothes and shoes for half the island.

I think it’s the free bags that will do Hawaiian Air in. We once had first class tickets with United but had Hawaiian Air as an island hop to get to UAL’s mainline route. Despite having first class tickets on UAL (we weren’t first class on the island hop) and having used UAL’s credit card, which gives us free bagged, Hawaiian Air made us pay bagged fees for the short hop. I’ve avoided them ever since when planning flights to/from Hawaii.
