We booked an Interval exchange (February 2021!) for
Renaissance Aruba Beach Resort & Hotel
HTB
Unit: 502 (1 Bedroom)

1) My understanding is that the 1 bdr condos are in the RENAISSANCE OCEAN SUITES section that is right on the beach. Is this correct?
2) Do both sections have free access to the private island?
3) I know they do not have to honor the room type but still, does anyone know where unit 502 would be?

Thanks a lot!

Can I jump on your post to ask a question too? Is this resort for adults only? I thought I read somewhere it was. Just curious.

Older TUG threads state the following

The TS portion of the Renaissance Ocean Suites are on the 1st, 3rd and 5th floors
The regular "Marriott" Ocean Suites rooms are on 2nd and 4th floors

Have a wonderful trip

All rooms at the Ren get free access to the Private Island. You will be in the Ocean Suites, which allows children. The Marina Tower is adults only in terms of the hotel rooms and the small pool on that side. The private island also has a section that is adults only, however there is plenty of room for families.

We stayed in the TS Ocean Suites section two years ago. Suites were great for simple in room eating. Small but updated. Better groceries if you have a car to head to store by hotel row. Less grocery choice downtown. Loved the private island and Z-Rovers for fish.

Thank you

I always find the reviews written by TUGgers much more informative than the ones on tripadviser!

I have never been to this resort, but it was my understanding that none of the sections were right on the beach - needed to go to private island. I could easily have that wrong.

Correct. The ocean suites are right on the water—there maybe a small, man made beach there, but for the beach experience, you’ll need to go to the island. When we stayed there (our first ever II exchange) we woke up every morning to a new cruise ship parked outside our balcony. Gave us a great chance to compare lines, LOL! But then we got great views watching them sail off into the sunset each evening. We fell in love with Aruba on that trip—and with timesharing.

Anyone stayed here recently? Just curious for recent trip reports. Also, any idea if exchanges into the timeshare get Marriott Bonvoy nights credit? I know this isn't a Marriott Vacation Club location, so not clear how they treat the timeshare side.

I have an exchange into 137 in April. It is a fixed week fixed unit resort so normally they honor the room number. However these are not normal times so if I were you with 502 facing the street, I would call a week ahead and ask for an ocean facing room.

We are at La Cabana now and they said in their weekly online owner meeting they have 50% occupancy in January and expect it to go lower next month with the new testing requirements. 65% of fixed week owners did not come in January.

In Aruba now. Superfoods delivers. Fee about $18USD. Bad part is it is an all day delivery 9:30-5. They call and say come to the lobby which is fine at la cabana but not Ren private island. You also can do pick up with a specific 1/2 hour time slot if you have a car. Very convenient and great service.

Give them your Bonvoy number at check in. You will get Elite nights and points for all applicable charges. No problem.
