Are there any owners at Villas @ Southgate with whom I can discuss the "Marriott Acquisition"?
I entered the timeshare world after early retirement 19 years ago, and my timeshare purchases were based on information and advice I found on TUG. I am a Brit with an affection for all things American, and with my limited budget found that a week with MROP (then part of ORE in Salt Lake City) and week at VAS in St George fulfilled my requirements perfectly. I have had great exchanges to resorts in many US states since then. I gave away my MROP week through TUG marketplace when my age started to impact on the number of transatlantic trips that were sensible.
The Villas @ Southgate (VAS) is a great, small resort which provides a leap-off point for tours of the marvellous scenery of Southern UT and northern AZ. It's management has been excellent, and it has been much-improved during the time my wife and I have owned there.
This is probably for the reason of a "major merger with Marriott" that has occurred. The advantages of this are so good, evidently, that (to quote emails I get) there is a time-sensitive option, and I should talk to a myresortoffer.com contact as soon as possible. This is the sort of language that my TUG advice told me to treat warily.
Should I fearlessly make the contact, or continue to hope that things will carry on as normal for owners who wear blinkers, (that's blinders in the US I think).
An association with Marriott may make the week at VAS more attractive to my children, who regularly use bonus weeks I get from Trading Places Inc, but I don't see any need for change.
